Norman Motors re-brand
An overhaul of Dorset’s oldest family-run luxury car sales business.
Established in 1953 by Donald James Norman, Norman Motors carries the distinction of being the oldest family-run motor trade business in Dorset, now its in third successive generation.
Norman Motors had an identity that was tired, uninspiring and failed to deliver the correct message to its potential buyers. The brief was to design a new identity that was not only modern and professional, but also spoke of the high quality of service that reflects the business' ethos.
We created a contemporary brand identity with a modern yet classic feel in order to gain confidence from Norman Motors’ potential clients. We added movement with a graphic that would sit alongside the logo, being playful with it's placement throughout all the branded material. In addition to the main logo we created a monogram, featuring subtly on its assets but eventually being recognised stand alone.
Following the successful logo re-design, we designed and produced stationery and printed literature along with exterior signage, advertising banners, clothing, car price boards, number plate boards - the list goes on into an all encompassing branding project.

During the middle of 2022 Norman Motors came to us to refresh the design of their website into a more modern, cutting-edge presence completely re-thinking the UI front-end design and UX user journey. The website was built by a team of automotive programme specialists, who have developed a seamless backend client management system that will help Norman Motors streamline the advertising of their vehicle stock. The website launched in the early part of 2023.

In addition to generic forecourt imagery as seen above, Norman Motors commissioned us to take a series of bespoke lifestyle imagery, illustrating all aspects of the business from the service centre through to sales and general interior photography. The images were initially taken to be used on the new website but have since been used on all general literature.
